HOW IT WORKS

DERSec LabTest Pro software automates compliance testing by communicating with laboratory hardware through Ethernet, serial, or GPIB communication interfaces. 

LABORATORY CONFIGURATION

DERSec LabTest software automates DER testing by communicating with laboratory hardware through programmatic interfaces. Laboratory setups include a DC power supply, AC grid simulator, data acquisition system (DAQ), and the Equipment Under Test (EUT). Test sequences are executed based on interconnection standard requirements, log data is captured, and the results are processed to assess the pass/fail performance of the EUT.

TEST EXECUTION

DERSec LabTest Pro runs IEEE 1547.1 certification tests based on user-selectable equipment and test configuration parameters. The tests are executed in accordance with the interconnection standard and DAQ data is post-processed to generate the pass/fail results based on the certification criteria.

TEST REPORTING

DERSec LabTest reports are generated in Microsoft Excel format with highlighted areas of test success or non-compliance.

DER SIMULATION AND GATEWAY TESTING

DERSec LabTest includes a dynamic, high-fidelity DER system simulation. This simulator is provided for general operator training and can be used to prototype and evaluate DER gateways and protocol translators. The virtual lab framework allows grid parameters and DC power levels to be adjusted to test against a range of conditions and control modes.

The DERSec LabTest product family includes the fully-featured DERSec LabTest Pro and DERSec LabTest Plus, a product for validation SunSpec Modbus protocol behavior; and SunSpec Dashboard an white-labeled product for SunSpec Modbus interface development and manual testing.
