May 15, 2025. Announcing volume 2 of Public History of Solar Cyber Attacks and Vulnerabilities. Since volume 1 was published in November 2024, DERSec has cataloged 50 new CVE vulnerabilities. According to the disclosures, these vulnerabilities exposed ~45% of the world-wide solar generation (>1 TW) to cyber exploitation.
November 18, 2024. As solar energy systems become more numerous and reliant on digital technology, they become more critical and vulnerable to cyberattacks. Through an analysis of 50 vulnerability reports and four cyber attacks that have occurred since 2012, this research by DER Security, Public History of Solar Energy Cyberattacks and Vulnerabilities, shows that threat activitty has increased significantly.
