Tom Tansy is the CEO and co-founder of DER Security Corp (DERSec), where he leads the company’s strategic vision and technical direction. A serial entrepreneur, Tom previously founded several companies that achieved successful exits to Microsoft and Cisco before turning his focus to the energy sector. He went on to found the SunSpec Alliance, the industry consortium he helped grow into an internationally recognized standard body, defining interoperability standards — including SunSpec Modbus and IEEE 2030.5 — for solar, storage, and other grid-edge devices. Tom’s rare combination of enterprise technology pedigree and deep energy standards expertise gives DERSec a strong foundation at the intersection of cybersecurity and the modern grid edge.

Vish brings deep expertise in VPPs, DERMS platforms, and grid integration, having scaled 6,000+ MW of DER management across global markets.
Jay Johnson is the Chief Technology Officer at DER Security Corp and leads the development of the company’s cybersecurity protection, detection, and response technologies for EV chargers, renewable energy installations, and energy storage systems. Previously, Jay was a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories.
A global cybersecurity executive with over 20 years of experience across IT, OT, and IoT security in highly regulated industries. Gary specializes in cyber risk management, secure digital transformation, and operational technology protection — leading programs that combine advisory services, emerging technologies, and managed security. Previously held leadership roles at IBM, NTT, and Kyndryl.
Chief Financial Officer at DER Security Corp with extensive experience guiding technology ventures through venture capital financing, IPOs, and mergers with companies including Cisco and F5. Venkat is also a founder of the PSK Research Foundation.
